Its been six weeks since i stopped birth control Combined contraceptive pill, still no period, is this normal?
Its been six weeks since i stopped birth control Combined contraceptive pill, still no period, is this normall? i have done 2 pregnancy tests and negative so this is not the case. When did you get your period back? i did get brown discharge lasting for 3 days, 4weeks after stopping BC, could this off been some kind of period? When should i see a doc? I am 21 and have been on BC for 3years

Some people will get back on schedule right away. Others, like me...aren't so lucky. I went off BC in the end of December...I waited and waited...three negative HPT tests later...I finally went to the doctor in the end of February. Who knows how long I would have had to wait if I wouldn't have gone in when I did!
I had a blood test...and my hormones were a bit off since I hadn't ovulated. He prescribed Prometrium, which is a progesterone that I took to jump start my period again. You take the medicine for about 7 days and then it cause your lining to shed.
The next month I got my period in a wonderful 28 day cycle. The following month, my hubby and I were pregnant. I'm now 12 weeks!
I would call for an appointment in the next few weeks or so. (if it takes a while to get in...call soon=) Prometrium did the trick for me. It took some patience...but it ended up being a great solution in the end!
