What the heck?!

Question:

What the heck?

I just started wearing tampons a couple months ago, and every time I change it, blood gets all over the applicator and half of the string. I have to wear a pantyliner or else the blood on the string gets on my underwear. is that supposed to happen?

I do clean it up before I put it in after I take it out and im pretty sure I have it in all the way because I never feel it.

but sometimes when I put it in, it just stops, like there's a wall, and I move it around because I know its the nerves or whatever but I still can't find it or something so I just push it in harder?

I don't know, im kind of confused.

I would love any help.

Answers:

If you accidentally leave the tampon in too long you will begin to bleed through so that's why you may find blood all over the applicator and on the string. For the first day or so of your period when it is most heavy you may want to wear a pantiliner for backup, just in case. I too hit a "wall" when putting one in and have to actually put the tampon in kind of to an angle. Not sure why that is but I'm 38, have two kids and never had any health problems so I guess it's normal. Just check the string frequently while wearing them. If you see blood on the string, chances are it's time to change it. Keep using them. Once you get used to them it makes life alot easier, especially if you are athletic or like to swim. Better than having that diaper between your legs.
