Which is the BEST??!

Question:

Which is the BEST??

I am looking into switching to a birth control pill that would make you have your period every couple of months or would make it drastically lighter and shorter, I would prefer the first. Does anyone know which kind would be the best? I know they have some shots that do this but I would really prefer the pill.

Answers:

i've been on a few different types of pills, and i like loestrin24 the best. i have ovarian cysts which made my periods hell as far as cramps and bleeding were concerned. estrostep was okay all-around, but stopped working to control my pain after a while. ovcon35 made me crazy emotional (too high hormones for me). but loestrin24 almost completely eliminated my periods (they are extremely scanty- i used to go through at least 8 overnight maxis or 10/11 super-duper tampons a day and have my period for at least 7 days, now i hardly even mess up a pantyliner and have it for 2 or 3 days at the most) and my cramps last longer than on the other pills but are nowhere near as intense (i get them the 7 days before i bleed, but they are easily fixed with ibuprofen). if you wanted to skip your period, just don't take the iron pills and start a new package instead- you could do that with any birth control pill also. you could also look into mirena. it's an iud with hormones (levonorgestrel i think, though i'm not positive) and for a lot of women it almost completely eliminates their periods, and has a lot less side effects than the pill. that's what i am looking into right now since the pill has ceased to be an option for me because of other medications. i hope this helped- going on the pill was one of the best things i ever did for myself.
