I just got mirena a week ago... pain during sex... is this normal?

I had severe cramps during and after insertion, and i am still having them now. The pain fluctuates. I had sex a few days after insertion, and it was very uncomfortable. I thought that maybe this would be normal since I haven't had a child yet, so the mirena is quite an adjustment for my body. My doc didn't tell me not to have sex, so ... should I be concerned??

I had some cramping the first couple of times after insertion. Insertion can be a little traumatic on your body, and I have had two kids. I can only imagine it is worse for someone who hasn't had kids yet.

Just keep an eye on it. I wouldn't stop, but go slow. If it doesn't get better in a couple of weeks, let your doctor know (just to be safe).
