i had this problem for a long time since i was young. one side of the labia is very itchy and dry. the skin is always raw and peeling probably because i scratch too hard. the other side is ok...
i had this problem even before i was sexually active and i have one partner only. i've seen a gynae before and was given some medication and soap to wash. the itch was gone temporarily. i've tried using the soap after i finished the medication and the itch came back... what could it be? the gynae didn't furnish me with any details!

It could be some type of psoriasis. I know it sounds gross, but try just washing with warm water for a while and no soap. Soap tends to dry out the skin even worse. You could also try "Aquaphor" or "Eucerin" lotions, they are wonderful for dry cracked and irritated skin. Do not use baby powder as it absorbs your natural oils and moisture. If it dosen't get any better, I would recommend that you go to the doctor again.
