Can I take birth control while I'm on my period?
I'm on Yasmin birth control and I heard that you will bleed a lot less if you take birth control while youre on your period-you know the little white water/sugar/reminder pills that you take during your period week. I never take the white pills when im on my period, just the yellow ones with the hormones in them when im not.
Should I just skip the white pills and begin a new yellow hormone pill week or do i need to not have birth control on my period week.
I have sex when im on my period sometimes (when its not heavy) and I dont want to get pregnant.

Okay, I'm not asking if I can take my reminder pills during my period. I already knew the answer to that.
My question is can I skip my reminder pills and begin a new week of hormone pills.

the white pills are placebo pills (pills with no hormones)
people often refer to these as sugar pills b/c they do nothing to effect your cycle.
you are ok skipping them but most people take them to help get them into a routine of taking the pill everyday so they don't forget the important ones
