What is a luteal phase?!

Question:

What is a luteal phase?

I came across this word and didn't know what it was talking about? I still haven't had any periods, I'm not pregnant either.
I also read how vitex can help with regulating periods. Somebody tell me something.

Answers:

The luteal phase begins at ovulation and ends the day before your next period. It decides the time of ovulation within your menstrual cycle. Vitex is a herb that can regulate your periods and increase fertility. It is also used to alleviate PMS symptoms and can take 6-12 weeks to begin to work.
