ok well my period just came im 13 but ive had it before but im going swimming in a little its light since its my first day this month can i still wear a tampon?

No reason why you shouldn't use tampons even when the flow is light. You may want to use a water soluble lubricant if insertion is a bit difficult, but it shouldn't really be a problem.
Flow may get heavier with the exercise anyway, and swimming is much more pleasant and worry-free with tampons. When I was a girl we were told the flow stops in water and some of us found out the very embarassing hard way this just isn't so all of the time.
In the future, you might want to carry a light days and a regular absorbency with you just in case. Applicatorless tampons, while a little more difficult to learn to use, are very tiny and easy to carry in your purse or a pocket, as small as a chapstick tube.
