I just lost my virginity, please help...?!

Question:

I just lost my virginity, please help...?

I lost my virginity a couple days ago (on Saturday). Im 16 and obviously we used a condom. He also pulled it out right before he ejaculated. Lately I been bleeding, but I cant tell whether its from losing my virginity or my period.

My periods are very irregular! Last time I had my period around the beginning of this month. A week or 2 before my periods, I would have a brown/light red discharge. Thats what Im going through right now. I been going through this ever since Saturday, today being the fourth day. Sometimes it would seem its gone, but then it would do it again. Sometimes its light, sometimes its heavier. Very small clumps are also present at times.

Is this my period or is it because my hymen broke? How can I tell? What would be the symptoms if Im pregnant? I know the risks and consequences, which is why I want to be sure. I also know there is always a chance of being pregnant, which is what Im worried about.

Answers:

First off, be proud of yourself and your partner for being smart and using a condom. Since you mentioned that your period is very irregular, I have to agree that I think it is your period. Besides, when you lose your virginity, you only may bleed for a couple of seconds, and it's maybe about a teaspoon or so of blood. When you lose your virginity, you should never continue to bleed for days, not even hours. That means that something went wrong and you need to get to a doctor, pronto. But my mother is a nurse and she and I both agree that it is most likely your period, since you mentioned irregularity. Hope I helped, and Good Luck!!!
