People burning alive in tanning beds?

my stupid friend showed this clip of a movie several weeks ago where these girls got locked in the tanning beds and it got turned way up and they were like screaming and hitting the top and it actually showed them burning and their skin getting all red and you could see their bones

now i am completley paranoid, i have never and will never go into a tannign bed, but i get really freaked out at night because i am afraid that i will have a nightmare about it!

help me! i can't get it out of my head

Sounds like a science fiction movie clip you saw. I really doubt that a tanning bed can cause burns that bad to where the bone is exposed. The worst a tan can do is skin peeling off and at worst, bubbling. I'm sure the power of the light is limited, and not even close to the power of the sun. There also has to be some kind of safety mechanism to limit the time that the bulbs or light source stay illuminated for. Don't worry, nobody's gonna get burnt, literally set on fire, in a tanning bed, unless someone pours gasoline on them and throws a match at them.
