Question:
Is it better to have a pelvic exam right before your period starts or right after it ends?
I can either schedule my yearly exam for 2 days before my period will start or scedule it for 2 days after it has just ended. My doctor is so popular that if I can't make these appt in August I will have to wait until October.
Answers:
It is best to have your exam after your period, before you ovulate - your cervix will be slightly open and it will be easier to do the exam. This is the best time for a breast exam as well.
