Has anyone out there ever suffered from Alopeica areata? It started for me when I was 18 and I had quite a few patches, it then grew back but from then on every March time it came back! Now I am 23 and my hair is fine- it hasnt fallen out now for about 2 years- what could make this suddenly stop? I was advised that it was my immune system fighting the hair folicles because it believed they were harming my body!! Obviously I am not complaining- its great for me but I am worried that maybe it will come back at some point!!
Anyone out there been through it or know someone who has been through it or going through it? Horrific thing to go through, especially for a woman!!

As you have already discovered there are no treatments for alopecia areata. Typically it does last 1-2 years and then recovery takes place. It is common to have one or more recurrences of the condition throughout your life.
