Is this normal?!

Question:

Is this normal?

Hey, I am 14 years old; I am 5.5 and 2 stone overweight. For the past 4 months, I have been acting very weird, I haven’t been my self. I have been trying to lose weight since I was 12, I have never been happy with my body, I am very paranoid. I have been getting really depressed about my weight. I found out about water fasting, so I thought I would try it, I have been water fasting for a week and 2 days, I have lost nearly a stone, but the problem is that I am very cold, and I have been having blackouts, I am very weak, and I sleep all the time, I don’t go out with my friend after school or on weekends anymore, I just sleep when I get home from school, I have no energy to do anything, even when I going up and down the stairs I lose my energy. I don’t really care though; all that matters is that I am losing weight. I have been acting very weird for the past couple of days; I have started buying calorie books, and looking at how many calories are in all the foods in my house. I try to keep my self busy so I don’t think about food, I would clean the house, and sort out all the food in my cupboards and put them in all neat, I even put them in order by how many calories they have in. I think I am going crazy. After the 1st week of my fasting, it has got really easy for me now because I don’t feel like eating anymore. I don’t want to eat anymore; I am too scared that I will put on weight. Is all this normal?

Answers:

The reason why you have no energy is because you're not eating. Eating fuels your body. Eat healthy and exercise, but don't over do the exercising. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, but also make sure you're taking in carbohydrates, as well. Carbohydrates really fuel your system and give you energy. Stay away from all trans fats and saturated fats. Those are the "bad fats", especially trans fats, but make sure you're eating enough of the "good fat", unsaturated. Avoid eating a lot of red meat (beef).

If you do plan on starting to exercise, do some cardiovascular excerising, such as jogging. Do not over do that, though! And make sure you have plenty of water on hand if you do decide to take up jogging.
