ok i just got my period:( can i wear a tampon and still be able to swim? has anyone ever done that before.

Absolutely! There's the widely spread, yet incorrect, old wives' tale about your period stopping in water, but it's 100% false. I mean, if that were true, all women would spend that whole week of the month in the bathtub and never have to deal with their periods!
Tampons are 100% safe to wear in swimming pools. But just because you're in a pool doesn't mean you'll need a super absorbency tampon. Use the correct absorbency for whatever your flow is like that day. Remember to change your tampon when you get out of the pool. And try not to let the little sucker's string hang out!
