i have been on loestrin 30 for almost 5 months and i thought it had settled. but i am in the middle of my 3rd packet which i have taken without a break in packs and i'm gettin worried about the period like cramps i've been getting - they are fairly bad for being unnaccompanied by a period and my breasts have had sharp pains. i was wondering if anybody else has experienced similar symptoms
but i'm only half way through my current pack so i shouldn't have cramps. i also never used to have these side effects from the beginning

I didn't have the cramping that you are talking about when I tried Loestrin Fe years ago but I sure did have the sharp pains in my breasts, left one is where it eventually settled. One time the pain got so bad I thought I was going to have to go to the ER because it hurt so much. In addition to that pain I had burning and itching going on too.
Not only did I tell my dr that I had at the time but I also reported the problem to the manufacturer because of the fact that these symptoms were so unusual. Turned out that part of my problem was also due to a condition that causes inflammation of the cartilage around the ribcage called costochondritis.
In relation to that birth control pill and others like it and my breast issue it turned out that the amount of estrogen in them was too low for me.
