What's the best form of birth control?!

What's the best form of birth control?

Yes, I know it's abstinence. I'm talking about birth control outside of abstinence.

Currently, my boyfriend and I use male condoms. But every time my period starts 1 or 2 days late, I start worrying that I missed it and I might be pregnant (because of the 97% effectiveness of condoms).

Will the pill be more effective? Can we use the pill without using condoms and still be certain of not getting pregnant? Are there other birth control methods even more effective than the pill or condoms?

Please do not tell me that the most effective birth control is abstinence and that no other method is 100% effective. I already know that.

I personally like the nuvaring because you don't have to worry about taking pills. It's really great. You insert it for three weeks and take it out for 1. During that week you'll get your period. I like it because the hormone levels are time released so you don't have to worry about keeping them "level" by taking pills at the same time. As long as you can remember when to insert and remove you're golden.
