Taking a preg. test to early?!
Question:
Taking a preg. test to early?
what are the chances that you get a false negative on a home pregnancy test if you take it too early.
today i took an ept test because my boyfriend was freaking out about the possibility of me being pregnant because lately i have been like sick and throwing up and stuff. he really freaked out so i took a test but i dont think it really worked. it looked like a negative sign was trying to show up but it was really light. i took the test earlier than the 4 days before my missed period as the box reccomended.
what are the chances that it is a false negative? im taking a new test in 3 days to double check
and to be honest i didnt want to take the test because i knew it was too early but i figured id do it to make him feel a little less nervous about the whole situation because he was really freaking out about it. he knows im going to take it again in a few days
3 weeks ago
and the negative sign on the EPT test was veryyy veryyy light. like almost unnoticable
Answers:
You need to be pregnant for at least 2 weeks before the hormones will show up on ANY HPT.
The chances are VERY HIGH that it's a negative. However, if you are feeling symptoms and there is a negative, the chances of you being pregnant are not very high.
Think of it like this: when you get pregnant, your body starts to produce special pregnancy hormones. After conception, you don't immediately feel these symptoms. It will take 2 weeks before YOU begin to feel any symptoms OR it shows up on a HPT.
