Yeast Infection?!

Question:

Yeast Infection?

Friday I noticed that I started having clotted white spots in my panties (not much-maybe 4 or 5). Saturday I was fine, but yesterday I noticed some after sex, and today I have some slight irritation around my vaginal opening (..probably because a bartholyn cyst just popped up again..). The discharge doesn't smell, I can urinate fine without any discomfort, and it's not painful during sex. I looked up the symptoms in a medical book, and they match...and I don't really know what else it could be. I'm pretty sure that I have a yeast infection. I've only ever had one, but it was 3 years ago....

There's no available appointment at my clinic until Thursday morning but I don't want it left untreated....so should I buy some vaginal cream like Monistat 7 to help deal with the discharge and irritation?

I think the BX sells both Monistat 3 & 7. If not then I'll have no choice but to buy the AAFES generic brand.

Thanks to everyone who has answered so far.

They say you only have to go to the doctor the first time that you have a yeast infection in order for the doctor to verify that it is in fact a yeast infection. By the second one, you are familiar with the symptoms. If I were you, I would go ahead and buy a yeast infection treatment (not just the itch cream) from your local drug store (even the walmart brand works). Then, use the treatment for the required number of days. If the infection isn't cleared up at that part....then I would schedule an appointment with the doctor.
