Does the IUD have a side effect of yeast infections like the pill?!


Question:

Does the IUD have a side effect of yeast infections like the pill?

I've had trouble with the pill because i get a yeast infection every month after my period. So i've decided to get the IUD but it just dawned on me that they are both hormonal wouldn't that mean they would cause vaginal infecton too? i've never read about that being a side effect so im confused can someone enlighten me???

When i continued to get yeast infections the doctor told me it was most likely because the hormones in the pill that increased the candida in my vagina that created the infections.


Answers:

An IUD can make you more vulnerable to uterine infections, but not necessarily yeast infections. Chances are it was something other than the pill doing it before, since b/c cannot give you an infection. Also, not all IUD's are hormonal. Some are just copper, but that's older technology.
