You could ask this question a 1000 times and get 1000 different answers. In my experience, it was very painful and I hated it. I was too young, too inexperienced, and didn't have a clue! It needs to happen at the right time, with the right person in a caring, loving relationship - then you know it will be beautiful, not painful. The right person who cares about you will not hurt you, he will make it good for you.
