Answers:

You may have a stomach virus and your period is just confusing the issue.

Do you have any fever? Many stomach viruses do not include fever, but it would help to know if you have fever.

In the meantime, go to clear fluids - Sprite, chicken broth, water, tea (hot or iced)

Keep yourself hydrated but don't put too much on your stomach.
When you are feeling a little better and think you can keep food down, try the BRAT diet

Bananas
Rice
Applesauce
Toast

This is very soothing to the stomach.

You may try some over the counter medications such as Emetrol (for nausea) or Pepto Bismol (for all the stomach problems) but if you have fever DO NOT take Pepto Bismol. It does have ingredients in it that can cause Reyes Syndrome.

Give it about 24 hours and if you aren't feeling better you may want to see your doctor.

Hot chammomile tea with ginger or cinnamon is very soothing. Sweeten with a little honey. My daughter swears by this remedy for her menstrual cramps. We don't do much medications and when I see her brewing "her tea" I know what time of the month it is for her! She has told her friends and they say it helps them too. It is worth a try anyway.

I hope that you feel better. Don't put too much heavy stuff on your stomach for a while and get lots of rest.
