We tried everything?

I have a friend and she is in a abusive relationship. her boyfriend of 5 years hits her, he controlls her life, he tried to rape her, and he has put a gund in her face, and hes a coke heaad. She knows she cant marry this guy because of the abuse but it seems like lately she will do it just to make him happy and just because for some reason she has a little feelings left for him. Then recently she met a guy and we all think hes a great guy, she has told us that she is falling in love with him, she even calls him love. She has told us that she wants to be with him but for financial reasons she is with her boyfriend. But recently it seems like after all he does to her, she doesnt want out. Is there a point to where we have to say ok this is how its gonna be for the rest of her life. she says she doesnt love him, but yet she stops at every oppurtunity to get help, we told her she could stay with us, and for her to call the cops but yet she does none of it. its like she doesnt want help

your friend is in what is called "battered wife syndrom". She cannot help it, she is conditionrd to think this is what she deserves or what her life is...she cannot see any other outcome.....she needs counceling....and support....you might not be able to help her....offer to find her a therapist...to drive her to the apointments.....but ultimately she may never be able to break free from him and you might hve to accept that as hard as that sounds...it will come down to if she is strong enough to want a better life.....good luck
