Period dillema...?!

Period dillema...?

I was supposed to start my period today, but I didn't. It's not unusual for me to start my period 1 or 2 days late, so no worries there.
The thing is I'm planning on going to a pool party tomorrow. Since my period hasn't started, I can't start using tampons - it hurts like hell to take out when there's no blood. But of course I don't want my period to start while I'm in the pool (I don't know if it'll start tomorrow or the day after that).
Is there any other option i have? Or do I just have to stay out of the water tomorrow?

I know i'll be able to insert the tampon using lubricant, but taking it out is unbearable without lubrication. And i can't really use a lubricant when taking it out. It's not physically possible...

You could try using a tampon that's for light days. Its that pearl brand or whatever. Those tampons are skinnier so it won't hurt as much to take it out than it would with a regular sized tampon. Or you could just keep getting out of the pool to go check.
