Called into hospital for a Colposcopy eaxamination after smear test....so scared????
Im 29 and went for a smear test for the first time 3-4 weeks ago. Yesterday i received a letter from the Hospital calling me in next week for a Colposdopy examination as they found some abnormal cells from me smear test. Im so scared. Can anyone give me some advice? HAve you been through this? what did they find?
Answers:
No big deal. Your pap smear showed some abnormal cells but that is entirely curable. That is what the colposcopy does. That take a small sample of the tissue (biopsy) and send it off for pathology readying. They also will remove any more tissue that is not normal. They do this with a microscope through the vagina. Feels just like a regular pelvic exam, with a little pinch with the biopsy or freezing of the tissue.
