If you have really irregular periods is it more likely that you can get pregnant!

Question:

If you have really irregular periods is it more likely that you can get pregnant during your cycle??

I have super irregular cycles, Is it more likely for me to get pregnant at the beginnings or during my cycle than those who menstruate regularly? My hubby and I are trying to conceive but we never do it during my period....and we have been trying for 8 months.....

Answers:

If you have irregular periods, you may have polycystic ovary syndrome, in which your eggs don't get released from the ovaries a lot of the time.

They just sit there in the ovaries, and cysts form around them, and it causes scarring, hormonal imbalances, weight gain, more hormonal imbalances from the excess weight, blood sugar issues...it's a pain in the a*s. Trust me--I have PCOS.

My doc said I'd probably need fertility drugs if I wanted to get pregnant so that an ovary would actually release an egg or two instead of just hanging onto them.

If you've been trying, actively trying, for that long, coupled with your irregular periods, you need a checkup. I mean, not just a pap smear and a poke here and there--you need something a lot more comprehensive. No sense suffering irregular periods and possible infertility. Get that checked out, because even if you AREN'T pregnant, you can live without so much pain and inconvenience and possible infertility.
