Is it safe to skip my period while on birth control?

My birthday is on the 27th and that's when it is due. I'm supposed to be celebrating for the week in Atlanta and I would really hate to be on the rag while I'm trying to have the time of my life. I'm currently on Yasmin. I used to be on Seasonal and I know they are from the same company. Would it be safe to just skip my period this one month? What are the problems that would occur if I did?

I've actually heard that you can do that and it shouldn't be much harm to your body, though I wouldn't do that every month or anything. If anything bad happens, you can always visit a doctor, but I'm sure you'll be okay skipping it just this once.
