What can I take to ease my period pain? or do I just put up and shut up?!

Question:

What can I take to ease my period pain? or do I just put up and shut up?

Answers:

Do NOT put up and shut up! If over the counter things don't work for you then see your doctor. There is loads they can do to help you. From putting you on birth control to lighten your periods and make them shorter. For instance Seasonale http://www.seasonale.com/ gives you a period once every 3 months, that is only 4 periods a year. It has literally changed my life. I didn't need it for the birth control (had my tubes tied after last child) but it made a huge difference with my periods. There are muscle relaxers and pain medication they can give you as well if your pain doesn't respond to over the counter treatments. I also use cyclease from biorin which makes a difference as well. http://www.boironusa.com/products.aspx?p...

But do NOT put up and shut up find a doctor who will listen and take your period pain seriously you should also be checked to see if you have endometriosis or uterine fibroids I had heavy painful periods from the beginning and my grandfather was a doctor, my Mom a nurse so I was lucky that they knew I was in a lot of pain. Even though I was NOT sexually active my doctor put me on the pill when I was just 13 to regulate and lighten my heavy periods. Otherwise I would have been in bed for a week every month.
