Help on approaching a request for hysterectomy for a doctor.?!

Question:

Help on approaching a request for hysterectomy for a doctor.?

I have endometriosis. I just made an appt. again with a doctor in August.
the list i have is
1.- 3 miscarriages due to endo
2. 2 Laproscopes and within a yr. it comes back.
3. Laborlike pain for 3 days if im not prescribed a very strong anti-inflammatory.
4. -It seems to be genetic in my family (sis and niece also have it)

For some reason these 4 points just does not seem to help too much with the docotor i see.
Can someone please help me with other key points on letting this doctor know I want a historectomy. I tried telling them before the Lurpon shot, and that was what i ended up with.
I'm 37 have 2 kids, don't want anymore and i'm tired of this cycle pain, and being in the bed 3 days a month because i can't deal with the pain.

I forgot to say..I did also have the Lupron shot, which failed also.

Depression is not the reason I stay in bed. It is due to pain. Imagine what it feels like to be in labor all over again. The constant peaking, then letting go, then peaking again, etc...

Answers:

Hysterectomy is a major surgical procedure, and with the state of the managed health care industry, physicians have to "prove" to the insurance company that they have tried every reasonable non-surgical option before performing invasive surgery.

Now the the Lurpon shot hasn't work, request your hystorectomy again. If the doctor says no, ask around your friends and find out who has a GYN that they love, and have your records transferred there and get a 2nd surgical opinion. Given your history, I'd be surprised if you are unable to find a provider who will honor your request.
