Hi
If I understand what you were saying, is that you are fit, but do not have your period yet at the age of 13.

Some questions to ask your mother is when did she and her sisters get their period? Are the women in your mothers family small framed like you are?

Genetics has a huge part in how we physcially mature.

Some physical signs that occur before you get your period include:
getting hair under your arms, in your private area and on your legs the hair changes;

your skin changes, maybe more oily and maybe you have acne;

you grow taller quickly- usually before the boys of your age group;

your hips change and you cannot fit your pants anymore but you've not gained weight;

you may get cramps in your belly but nothing else happens.

all of these things change before you get your period and the range of age for getting your period is between 10-17 but most girls get their period between 12-15.

Weight does have an influence on menstration, and fat is needed to hold the hormone, estrogen, one of the hormones that aid in the cycle of ovulating (releasing an egg every month). The other hormone is called progesterone.

When you saw your doctor did he suggest you put on some weight even though your BMI is ok? I would like to see you with a BMI of 20, so closer to 90 lbs.

If by the time you are 15 and have not had any menstral periods, have not developed any of the secondary sexual characteristics as I listed above, you will need to see your doctor and possibly and endocrinologist- a doctor that specializes in hormones. We have many of them in our body.

Take care
Pam
