Cervical cancer, the vaccine, and sexual activity?!

Question:

Cervical cancer, the vaccine, and sexual activity?

What are the chances of me getting HPV and cervicak cancer from a guy fingering me once? I havent had sexual intercourse yet.

Also, i heard you need to get the vaccine before being sexually active, would this fingering have already ruined the whole thing?

Thank you.

Answers:

I agree with the answer before me. you can still get the HPV vaccine even though you have been sexually active to some extent. They're only recommending it to those who haven't yet been having sex (the idea is to target pre-pubescent girls) but it's okay for you.

HPV is caused by genital warts, which is a whole other story compared to regular warts (they just call it warts because of the way the lesions look). Unless this guy has the virus that causes genital warts (oral or penile), and has touched the infected area and then fingered you, your chances are low. The same goes for other STIs/STDs. You should probably start seeing a gyn though to be safe (if youre worried or not).

The best thing is to ask, even though he might not know/he may lie or you're just embarrassed.

here's the lesson: look and examine if it's gonna touch you. that's the hard truth (as funny looking as they look haha)
