Am I getting my first period?!

Question:

Am I getting my first period?

I am 11 years old, my breasts are tender and have been growing for about two years now. I have been getting thick vagina discharge for 7 months now and just today when I woke up it wasen't as thick as usual. A few days ago my vagina discharge was clear and I started to get cramps. I haven't gotten any vagina discharge since 9 AM this morning and I usualy get it every 30 minutes to 2 hours. I started getting cramps 3 days ago but I started to get this sharp pain pain in my lower abdomin about 4 months ago. I only get this pain like 2 or 3 times a month. The cramps are alternating from sides to middle and are 3 inches below my bellybutton and 3 inches above my vagina. I also started getting pubic hair at the time I started to get vagina discharge. I am having trouble being able to consentrate and I am anxiose and impateint. I also get angry easly. My mom got her first period when she was 13, my oldest got hers when she was 12 and my other sister got hers when she was 15.

Answers:

Yes, this sounds like you will get your period very soon. Most girls get their periods 2 years after breast buds, and within 6 months to two years of vaginal discharge. So you are right there! Thin discharge is a sign of ovulation, meaning you will get your period within two weeks, or it could mean that yu will get it any minute!

Also, all that you have described are symptoms of PMS, or Premenstrual syndrome. If you have never heard of this, don't worry, it is perfectly normal - most women will get some kind of PMS symptom right before their period.

The symptoms include:
mood swings
headaches
back pain
cramps
tender breasts
sore joints or muscles
insomnia
food cravings
clumsiness
nausea
diarrhea
bloating
weight gain
acne
heart palpitations

Well, good luck and congratulations if it is your period!
