Girls help please!! URGENT!?

i just got my period for the third time after 2 months of not getting it. im 13. i have to go to a pool party today, and i dont know what to do! my mom is working so she cant help me or anything. i know there are tampons (there are only regular ones at our house that my mom uses no slim or slender or whatever) i tried to use it but i cant do it and im really scared. i cant go swimming with a pad. please help me!

there isn't a way for me to get TO the store to get slim ones. the flow is normal i guess. is it ok to use regular ones?
