I've figured out how to use the tampon, I just don't know where it goes into now.

What I meant was where do you insert it. Is it more towards the back or is it right in the front?

(I'm sort of ignorant to all this stuff, usually I just slap on a pad, but that's not an option for swimming)

Well, you have 3 holes down there. Your urethra, anus, and vagina. No matter how hard you tried, it would NEVER fit in your urethra. And you anus is pretty far away from the other two. Get a compact mirror and look at it all while you're trying to put it in if that makes you feel better. It'll feel strange, and you'll wanna stop, but just keep going.
