How much does a massage therapist make in a year.?!

Question: This will depend on many factors. I make a great living as a LMT here in Missouri, but that was not always the case. When I first started out it was a struggle because I did not want to work for a spa. I settled for going to work for the Marriott Hotel. I had more choices in the type of massages I wanted to give plus the money was real good. Once I built up a client base I have no problem working about 25 hours a week. I know some therapist that work up to 40 hours a week and makes really great money but they are burning out quick. I chose to work less so that I do not burn out I also charge a flat rate now and the only they that I charge extra for is if I have to travel further than 15 miles or if they want extra time. The going rate here in Missouri is between $60 to $80 dollars an hour. While this is not bad money to make when money gets tight for people they are less likely to get a massage. I chose to charge only $40 an your and I find I have more than enough work to keep me busy. I average about giving 25 massage a week.

$40k to $60k if working in doctor's office

Not enough. I am a massage therapist and this year I started my own practice, becuase I decided that I wasn't going to earn a livign making money for someone else, and all of my bosses were chumps, anyway.
I'm just getting started, but when it's good, it's good. This is not a field for anyone who enjoys being with people who are nude. I recommend it only to people who have additional expertise in a related field. I am a personal trainer and also have a bachelor's degree, with work experience, in psychology. Massage was the next logical step in my career path, and now I have my own business for massage therapy.

I generally make about 25 to 30k per year but this past year was a little strained as I went touring with the band for a few months.
Life is good in NC.

Money varies but don't do it for the money. If you only do it for the money, you won't last long. Do it from the heart and because you want to help others and the universe will always take care of you.

Although, times are getting tough financially in this world. Many people are losing their homes because they can't pay their mortgages. So, if someone can't pay for their home, they certainly won't be getting a massage...

Just something to consider...

depend u can make thousands u know if u can perform some massage in extra parts hehehehe
