Question: I have seen it advertised as a service at some high end spas and salons. Does it work as well as people claim or does it depend on the person?

I am unsure and this is why I have scheduled an appointment, to find out. Perhaps my ears produce more wax than the average, because regardless of cleaning them regularly, it reaches a point when I need to go have them flushed by a doctor because they are blocked (and nothing else will unblock them).
I was interested in this natural method as an alternative, and know that there is mixed feedback on it, some believing it is fake and does not work at all, and others saying it has relieved them of not only ear wax but other sinus-related symptoms.
I want to see if I feel a difference and if my doctor notices a difference when I go to see her.
No, it doesn't. My good friend is an audiologist and she says it is dangerous and ineffective. It is based on the principle that it creates a vacuum to remove wax and other build up. But it does not create a vacuum and your ear has it's own sweeping mechanism. Studies have also shown that the materials removed do not contain ear wax. If you need to loosen ear wax, she recommends hydrogen peroxide. Save your money or spend it on a massage!

yes they do work.. my family (and myself)gets it done every year... Its quite relaxing and enjoyable.. its really neat to see how much wax and build up can actually be in there and come out... everyone i know who does it, it works..
(oh, and we do it ourselves..)
