Great question!!! I always get a kick out of the "alternative" being placed on the oldest of healing ways, while practices of only a few hundred years is the mainstay...go figure!!!

Healing is an encompassing artform...as diverse as humanness. You see, healing the body is easy...it's an organic organism quite capable of taking care of itself if given the proper motivation & fuel to do so. Motivation could be anything from massaging or pin-pricking the right sensors, to herbal elixirs that stimulate sluggish organs & provide concentrated nutrition, to realigning bone structures & muscle tissues, to a certain tone or song that re-opens the autistic.
However, enter our beloved brain...now here is power of mystery...the gathering of like minds around a comatose person can re-ignite the spark of life, a trip into the past can alleviate a horrible fear in the now, a placebo pill can make a depressed person the life of the party. And if a person feels in his heart & his mind that he is doomed, then so he is.

Look at it this way, Mother Nature provides the foods & medicinals beforehand for every creature entering into the evolutionary process...all of her parts are alive--even rocks have vibration of life--and all parts serve purpose. We, with our wonderful brains & inner spirit gifts have the power to use all these parts as we see fit, and each of us have the free-will choice to accept or negate any of it. Is it magic, miracle, God or Goddess, Eastern/Western, plant or chemical or surgical??? It is all of it and none of it...it simply is.

And what works for one may not work the same for another...not all possess the ability to take medicines in proper doses at proper times, not all see a crystal stone as a lifeform of energy, not all feel relief from the same aspirin...not all are calmed by lavendar color...See???

Healing is called an art for a reason...beauty & connect are in the eyes, hearts, and minds of the beholders.

Good & Healthful Journey!!!

I'm a massage therapist and totally believe in the body healing itself. I regularly go to see a chiropractor and it has helped me with my migraine headaches and back problems. I'm not sure what you want the alternative medicine to heal though? I need more details. The alternative medicine doesn't heal you. Your own body does they just help it to. When you receive a massage it helps increase your circulation, relax muscles, and get rid of toxins. I love getting massages. It is not a luxury thing. It's health maintence for me. I haven't gotten sick for along time.

I am a firm believer in alternative medacines. The way that I see it is that it can't hurt to try. So I usually attempt an alternative option first if I can find one, and then if I still need additional help, I turn to Western Medicine. I have found MANY options that do work, but I have also found some that dont. I have found AMAZING results from Acupuncture, and am a believer. I have also used nutritional supplements such as Evening Primrose oil to cure and aid my exczema something which traditional medicine couldnt do for me. I have also tried other things such as Guggul to lower my cholesterol which I didnt have the best results with (although I didnt stick to the regimine as tightly as I should.) In short, I think different things work on different issues, and are worth trying. If it doesnt work, you dont lose anything! Think of it this way, we know vegetables and fruit nourish our body and help out eyesight, bones, heart, etc. So why would herbs be any different? GOOD LUCK!!

Matrix Energetics is the most profound healing technique I have ever seen that anyone can learn and use, By applying this consciousness technology you can feel and sometimes see depending on the area instantaneous change. You can buy the book and learn the techniques or go to a seminar.

There is also another healing technique that works just as good but takes years of training to do. I am not sure what it is called, I believe it is a rare oriental healing technique, but it works off of creating loving emotions, and anything that it is directed to gets the healing. Our heart is a liquid crystal ''DNA'' osculator, and it creates a different magnetic field when certain emotions are created and felt by the practitioner, when the loving emotions are directed at the patient they get healed. There was a particular case where a healing was being done and the patient had a tumor, when the practitioner started to heal the tumor started to dissolve and less then 3 minutes later there was no more tumor.

We are much more powerful then we believe, we are beings with unlimited power and infinite potential, we need to realize this.
