We use it the same as the old jelly stuff. I like it better--it's less sticky! Hope you feel better!

I believe it has the same effect, I usually put a dab around my nostrils and go with it, it helps me breathe alot easier.
Hope you get better.

Yes it's just as effective. If you really want to speed up the reduction of your cold...you may like to try rubbing it into the soles of your feet at bedtime.....the soles of the feet are the most effective way for the blood stream to assist the healing process. A word of caution...please put on a pair of bed socks to prevent soiling the sheets. Happy healing!

Sorry, but that stuff about putting it on your feet is just mad! There is nothing in that stuff that 'heals' the cold - it just relieves some of the symptoms when you inhale it. It's like the old wives' tale about how having bare feet on a cold floor will give you a cold.

The skin on the soles of the feet is around 4 times thicker than on most of the rest of the body, so it's unlikely to penetrate as far as the blood vessels. (I hope so, cos I wouldn't want chemicals as toxic as eucalyptus oil & menthol in my blood stream!) It might cause a superficial warming of the skin in that area, which I guess could lead to a feeling of increased well-being, but the rest? I don't think so!
