All my friends that have had it done have said that it was extremely pleasant and not painful at all. The procedure lasts about 45 minutes and costs about 45-79 pounds in UK.

dont know about thenhs,but it can hurt from mild to bad.
Its a waste of time and money dont fall for that line that it helps you so much.
I don't know about the nhs, you must be British because my health insurance certainly wouldn't cover it, but I have done it. You can either have it done by a professional, which is expensive but not painful, in fact pleasant, or do it yourself if you've been shown how. I did it myself - you have to buy a board which is about $150 in the US. Once you get past the grossness and figure out the mechanics, it's very satisfying and not painful at all. I quit after a few months because I wasn't sure it was helping me, but I also stopped seeing the health practitioner who had recommended it.
