Homemade cough remedy out of these ingredients...?!

Question: I have a really bad cough with a sore throat and I just feel awful. I've tried taking sudafed, hardly helped. I've taken spoonfulls of pure, raw honey, helped for a few minutes. Warm milk with honey only helped a little bit, too. And cough syrups don't help me and make me drowsy.

Here are the ingredients in my pantry that I've heard can help a cough: Pure, raw honey, Onion Powder, Crystalized Ginger, Chili Powder, Cinnamon Sticks, Clover Honey (powder form), and Bay Leaves. (and milk)

Anything I can make out of this to help my throat and cough?

Onion is a great natural decongestant. Slice one, and keep a few slices on a small plate near you. You may smell like you need a shower, but your head will be clear.

Ginger is very good for your throat. It'll even help give your voice back for a little while when you're hoarse. If you have a gingerroot, slice some of it up and boil it in a pan on the stove. If you don't have one, use some of the crystallized ginger instead. Chop it well. Let it boil for 15-20 minutes, making sure there's plenty of water in the pan. When it's done. strain out the pieces of ginger and discad them. Drink a mugful of the liquid. Add a little honey to it and stir well. Store any leftover liquid in the fridge and reheat it in the microwave when you need it. Add the honey after it's heated. It looks like swampwater, but it does really well on a sore throat.

Do you have any lemon juice, or a lemon, if so add 2 equal parts of honey and lemon juice and drink, hope it helps

Hi!

You have some good ingredients there. The best natural cough/cold/sore throat recipie comes from "tomato tea"

combine tomato juice, lemon juice, lots of garlic, chili powder or as much tabasco as you can handle. I usually add some Whirschiester (sp) sauce to make it taste a little better. Heat this all up and drink. It is not the best tasting thing ever but I SWEAR it will work.

For various recipies google search "tomato tea".
