Your body has excellent mechanisms for "detoxing" without the need for fancy, expensive "cleanses" many of which amount to little more than an irritant for your bowels.
The best bet is to support the natural mechanisms you have ready-made in your body...
- Cut out alcohol, caffeine, fried foods, processed foods and sugar intake.
- Increase fruit and veg intake to about 50% of your diet. Variety is important!
- Drink 1.5 - 2 L water daily (can toss some lemon in your water for added benefits.)
If you're not having at least 2 formed, easy-to-pass bowel movements daily, you could try a few abdominal massages. Or topically apply castor oil (rub clockwise on skin over whole abdomen plus the bottom of ribs on your right side) then cover with an old cloth and place a hot water bottle over while you hang out and read or watch TV for 30 minutes a few times a week.
Proper diet, proper nutrition, adequate hydration, supported liver and kidney function and healthy transit time through the digestive tract. Voila! Best "cleanse" in the world. ;)
