Home cures for sniffly noses?!
Question: Home cures for sniffly noses?
Answers:
Try inhaling steam, I always find this helps with congestion. Half fill a basin with hot water (steaming) and then, holding a towel around your head and the basin a bit like a tent, inhale the steam through your nose for 2-5 minutes.
Be careful, if the water is too hot to touch it is likely too hot to inhale, add cold :)
Olbas oil is another alternative that you may have in your home, put a few drops on a flannel or even just a tissue, and inhale through your nose through the flannel. The menthol really clears the sinuses.
You might try a cup of peppermint tea to help unblock your sinuses. Saline nasal spray will help if there is an infection in your sinuses. Eucalyptus oil in a steamer works very well. To get rid of your cold you must be healthy, your immune system working well and no contact with infected people or surfaces.
I use salt water. Fill a small plastic spray bottle with a weak salt water solution and spray into your nostrils. ( I think it's easier than using a Netti pot)
If the congestion is really bad, I make a tea with cayenne pepper. Just put a little into a cup and pour hot water over it. Then sip it slowly.
