Question: Used a mineral oil fleet enema?
so i just used a mineral oil fleet enema because i have a very large and semi hard stool that i cant pass..what can i expect? will it make my large stool smaller and softer or will i still be forced pushing this big thing out but with a smooth coat over it?
also ive hears your suppose to hold it in for 30 min to an hour so that it can soften the harder stool..so im doing that..is this ok?

Hi Meredith, it sounds like you are on the track. The longer you can hold it the better your chances are of getting everything softened up enough to pass. Besides being soft it is also well lubricated and should pass easily. The directions also tell you to take a regular Fleet enema as a rinse. I prefer using a two quart enema bag and take about a one quart plain warm water enema as a rinse. It's better than a Fleet in my opinion and with proper care, will last for years.
