what are the best medicine for sore throat?!
Question: What are the best medicine for sore throat?
thanks...
Answers:
You have man prescription and non-prescription options.
Home Remedy:
Warm Salt Water (mix 1 TBSP of salt in 6 oz very warm water). Gargle, sooth, repeat every 2 hours.
OTC Medicines:
Cepacol lozenges (with Dextromethorphan and Benzocaine - cough supressant and numbing agent).
Choloraseptic lozenges or spray (numbing agents)
Many other cough drops.
Rx: Anything with lidocaine. There is a famous Pharmacists Mix called "Magic mouthwash" (Benadryl to dry up post nasal drip | Lidocaine to numb | Mylanta to soothe). It's called BLM / Magic Mouthwash. It's rx only because too much lidocaine changes the heart rhythm and beating.
Best of luck.
(FYI By far the lidocaine is the best, but requires an Rx and can be expensive). Salt Water is the next best and really does work that well.
