My vitamin is making me sick?!

Question: My vitamin is making me sick?
I havent been taking my vitamins in who knows how long so I started taking Once A Day Energey vitamin and I also take a fish oil pill along with it. I always take fish oil tablets so im used to those but this is my first time trying the Once A Day Energy.

So I took it the other day on an empty stomach and I threw up so then I started taking it after I ate but everytime I do I get nausous and I puke it up.
Whats with that?

"So I took it the other day on an empty stomach"... that's the key. You never want to take a multivitamin or a fish oil product on an empty stomach or it will upset your stomach... I'm not surprised you threw up.
I've been in a similar situation where I got a pill stuck in my throat and got nauseous every time I took a pill after that for a good couple weeks... it's the mental suggestion because of what happened before. For lack of a better term, you're gun shy to take pills again because you threw up before... it'll pass soon enough.
Ideally, you want to take a multi or fish oil as early as the first bite of food and up to 30-60 minutes after the meal is over (depending on what you ate) to make sure you have enough food in your stomach when the pill breaks down so it doesn't upset your stomach. If nothing else, just make sure you eat something first and drink plenty of water to help minimize the effect. ;-) Good luck and I hope I helped!

[edit]: And now that I've thought about it a little more, how much are you eating with it each time? Ideally, you'll want to eat a full meal with it to avoid the upset stomach altogether, but if you have just a small snack like a couple crackers, it wouldn't be anywhere near enough.
Another possibility (although it's very rare) is that you might be allergic to one of the nutrients in it. It is really rare, but some people are not able to take a multivitamin (I'm one of them... I'm allergic to Zinc). If you're throwing up every time, I would just stop taking it for a couple weeks to get the idea out of your head a little better... that might help, but you also might want to try a different multivitamin next time you take one just to make sure it's not something added to that pill (since it's an energy multi).
