Methadone as treatment?!

Question: Methadone as treatment?
Ive had a oxycodone problem for about 4 years now. About a year and a half ago i was able to quit for a week using methadone. Ive finally hit rock bottom and im so ready to start the rest of my life clean and sober. Anyway, i knew the only way id be able to do it is if i could find some methadone..its so hard to find! I dont have the money or time to go to a clinic or whatever. Anyway, I normally would take 7 -15mg oxy a day at the most. Tomorrow is the day im starting the methadone. I cant remember how long it took me last time, i dont even think i was trying to quit, i just all the sudden wasnt craving after my methadone was out...But i was planning on taking 1 10mg methadone in the morning and 1 at dinner for 5 days...maybe tappering the methadone if i can 3rd day...do u think the oxy withdrawal will mostly be out by then?? Please only positive people...i need good support right now! this isnt easy!

dont use methadone it will only move your addiction onto that. Methadone is more addictive than heroin.

use suboxin... quit for like a full day and on the second day when you start to get really sick take like a quarter to a half of a suboxin and it will cure you. only take it as needed when you are really sick.

imsart is incorrect in what they say. both methadone and suboxone are just as addicting. ppl are confused by the misinformation out there and think that suboxone is safer than methadone. They are both very dangerous medications and they are not made to be played with and should be dispensed by medical professionals. You don't know what other health complications you may have going on and I don't recommend you do this yourself. I understand you may not have the money or the time to do this through a methadone clinic, but it would be way more preferable than to accidently kill yourself.

Suboxone by the way ends up being way more expensive than methadone treatment so if you dont' have the money for methadone treatment, you won't have money to purchase the suboxone the doc prescribes you. Please reconsider doing this on your own.
