Is it necessary to take break in normal vitamin supplement consumption over a lo!

Question: Is it necessary to take break in normal vitamin supplement consumption over a long period?
I have been taking vitamin supplements for three years now without break with excellent results. But I learnt that doctors advise to take a break of a few days. But nutritionists differ. Who is right?

no need to break.

There is no need to take a break from your supplements. Your body requires theses vitamins and minerals every single day. Sometimes I take a fast, and abstain from food but drink lots of water and broth just because I personally like to give my body a break. There is no medical need to fast nor is there a medical need to take a rest on the supplements you take. If it is working for you, keep doing it. Something else, it takes a while for a supplement to get into your system at a steady state so if you stop taking it for a while, it will take another couple of days for it to get back into your system at a steady rate.

You are literally throwing money down the drain purchasing supplements, the only one that benefits from these supplements are the health food companies. A Good balanced diet of food grains fruit, vegetables, nuts. One gets all the necessary proteins, vitamins, minerals for a healthy mind, body and well-being. If you are looking to live a healthier lifestyle, please look into Ayurvedic lifestyle and medicine.

Doctors are not experts in nutrition -- far from it. They get no training in nutrition beyond a lecture or two. Nutrition is the field of expertise of nutritionists who study in great detail. I'd be inclined to go with the experts in the field, the nutritionists.
There's also an old piece of wisdom: if it isn't broken, don't fix it. If your regimen is working for you why change it?
