Programs for a dogs broken leg, we cant afford?!

Question: Programs for a dogs broken leg, we cant afford?
Our dog ran out into the road Sunday afternoon and his wrist/ foot got broke. the vet took x-rays and he broke 2 bones in his foot/wrist in half. hes 11 years old and for surgery its going to cost up to 3000 dollars. we cant afford it and we don't want to put him down for such a minor injury and plus he still has years to live. i was hoping there is some kind of program or organization out there that can help us if we surrender him and give him a new home, or if we can get financial assistance of any kind, or any thing. If its possible we would like to give him a new home and surrender him- if we cant afford the bills. we will most likely be able to handle this our selves is they will let us do a payment plan of some sort. i am just trying to explore all of our options. thanks.

Does your vet accept Care Credit? If not, find a vet that does. Care Credit is a medical credit card for you and your pet. You can apply online at www.carecredit.com. The website will also help you find a vet in your area that accepts it. I got carecredit when my dog needed a 2700.00 surgery. I'm paying $62/month for 5 years. Good luck. Hope this helps

You can sign up for Care Credit. It's easy and your dog can get the help he needs with no worries. You might have to find a vet that accepts this though. Do some research on it.

Good luck

1) Contact your local SPCA for the name and number of a low cost vet.
2) Contact your local University to find out if they have a veterinary program
3) Contact your vet and ask if they will take payments

Call the Animal Shelter/ASPCA/Humane Society. They may be able to refer you to a vet that accepts payments or you can check with the rescue group of your dog breeds type.
