My daughter has some boil like or wart like formations on her ear lob. is there !
Question:
My daughter has some boil like or wart like formations on her ear lob. is there any remedy for this?
Answers:
I am not a medical professional but I do have a couple of skin diseases, one involves what most lay people call boils (which I squeezed for years until condition got bad enough for me to call my doctor asking him to 'lance' it). I have a sister who has had keloids on her earlobes for 25+ years and a nephew who had his surgically removed about a year after they developed on his earloabes. Anyway, normally the "growth" that appears on the earlobe (normally a pierced earlobe) is what is called a Keloid. I believe Keloids are normally treated by medical doctors (often plastic surgeons) and are removed either surgically or "frozen" or "chemically". I have seen ads for products that remove Keloids but don't know if they really work. I would not try to lance it myself because it is my understanding that the Keloid is an overgrowth of skin not a sac filled with something (pus, blood, etc). Be aware that there is some chance of reoccurance after removal. Seek professional advice and make an informed decision. Good luck.
