Can Traditional chinese medicine cause weight gain?!
Question:
Can Traditional chinese medicine cause weight gain?
I mean the really bitter liquid medicine, that were boiled in water for hours with many different dried herbs.
Answers:
If the herbs are prescribed in order to counter loss of appetite or other digestive problems that are manifesting as weight LOSS, then yes, they can assist with gaining the weight back (i.e. increase appetite and modify metabolism accordingly).
However, herbal remedies prescribed for other reasons, such as allergies, pain, OBGYN issues, etc. do not result in unwanted weight gain. This is not a side effect associated with these medications.
