How to fight insomnia?!

Question: I'm having trouble sleeping properly at night. I can't help random thaughts intruding my mind. Not related to professional stress or serious matters. Just stupid random senarios about nonsensial situations. They pop out of nothingness and stress me. I lose my tranquility and keep "fighting" with the blankets. Just irrelevant mind garbage... Help anyone?

My problem too and a life-long one at that.

Try a sleeping pill or Valerian. Valerian is a natural herb which I take. It calms you down so you can sleep better.

Whether it was a sleeping pill or a natural remedy I always took half the recommended dose. The sleeping pills can really make you groggy the next morning. Valerian doesn't make me groggy at all.

Try to catch yourself when your mind is racing and imagine sitting by a calm pool of water. If you need to count sheep then imagine sheep jumping over the pool or imagine a single source of water dripping into the pool creating rings. Count the droplets. If visualization doesn't work try counting deep breaths.

do what i do, and stay up untill your in zombie mode, then its easy to sleep

see a damn psychiatrist

I have insomnia, and my doctor gave me a mild sleeping pill. They have some that are non habit forming and work really well.

i had insomia for 2 years and it waa the worst things ever... I couldnt sleep until 5am everyday and finally i got over it i dont know how but i did... it usually occurs when something bad happens in your life.

Insomnia is often caused by fear, stress, anxiety, medications, herbs, caffeine, depression or sometimes for no apparent reason. Make sure your bedroom is quiet and dark. Soak a tablespoon of mint leaves in a cup of water for an hour, drink every night. Check out http://useinfo-insomnia.blogspot.com/ for more info
